Okay… It’s all fine and good to say that you are going to remove this tax and that tax and put the burden back on the businesses, however all the businesses are going to do is put the price up to cover the tax increase. Therefore you are zeroing out the work you do to try to make yourself look good. Instead of “trying” to look good. Try reduce government waste and gov spending and maybe reduce the crazy salaries you all have to help save Canadian tax payers! Come on morons, Canadians are not that stupid.

For the first part of this tutorial, we are going to show you how to generate the report required using Advanced Segments.
Step 1: In Google Analytics, select Advanced Segments;

Step 2: Select “Create new custom segment” from the upper left corner.
Step 3: Under “Dimensions” (Green Box), select the dimension that you wish to report on. In this case it is “Page” under the “Content” section. Now drag “Page” to the Green Dimensions section. Your screen should look like the image below:

Step 4: Change the “Condition” from “Matches exactly” to “Contains”
Step 5: In the “Value” box paste the URL of the page without the www.reval.com portion. (ie. products/hedgeaccounting/Pages/Hedge-Accounting-Projects.aspx), it should match this page and highlight it like in the following image:

Once you have entered the URL, you can then preview your report by clicking on “Test Segment”, or if you are confident that this is what you are looking for, “Name segment” and click “Create segment”.
Once you have created and saved your segment, you can then go to the reporting area that you want and then apply your segment.
To apply your custom created segment to a report, do the following: Select the Report that you want to apply this to. For this I used “Visitors” > “Network Properties” > “Network Location”
Now in the upper right side of your screen, click on “All Visits” Click your Custom Segment so that it is checked, and click “All Visits” so that it is unchecked and select “Apply”.
You are now looking at that report as it applies to that specific page that you used. Just remember to turn off Custom Segments when you want to view the full reports.

For the second part of this tutorial, we are going to show you how to generate the report required using Custom Reports.
Step 1: In Google Analytics, select Custom Reporting

Step 2: Select “Create new custom report” from the upper left corner.
Step 3: Under the “Metrics” section, drag the metrics you wish to view over to the dotted Metrics boxes. For this example, I selected “Pageviews and Visits” from the “Site Usage” section.

Step 4: Add the Dimension that you wish to spefically view. In this case, we want to view a particular page, so we will select “Page” from the “Dimensions” section under “Content”.
Step 5: Now under the “Drill Down” sub “Dimension”, you will want to specify what you want to Drill Down into. In this instance, we want to see the “Network Locations” under the “Systems” “Dimension”.

From here, you can either Preview your report, or you can choose to Create your report. If you are confident that you have the information you need, go ahead and just select “Create Report”
Now to view your custom report, select Custom Reports and click the Report you wish to view. Now you will see that it shows all of the pages, not just the one you are looking for, so at the bottom of the screen you need to “Filter Page” and ensure it is using “containing” in the selection, and like the previous selection enter the page you want to filter on: (ie. /products/hedgeaccounting/Pages/default.aspx ) and click “Go”.
Now you will see that page listed and if you Click on it, you will have your report that details all the “Network Locations” that have hit that page.

So a crowd of people came running at me this am, and I was trying to figure out what was going on. From what we can tell, there was a cable that came off of a train this am and started a track fire which also slightly exploded. People evacuated and ran everywhere. There was confusion on the train and the streets below. Here are some pics of the emergency crews (an hour after the chaos).

I can tell you personally that after being involved in the beta test that this is one hell of an upgrade. Some of the new features that are being introduced today will blow you away. Take a look at some of them highlighted below. And if you wanted to get your hands on a trial, check it out! You won’t be disappointed!

So what they have done is gotten rid of the old Map Viewer! So now I don’t have to get my colleagues that haven’t yet got MindManager installed to download a separate file. Now I just send them the PDF and it is fully functioning and interactive.

Not only can you send your friends and colleagues a PDF file, but you can also embed a Flash file directly into your project and have it be fully interactive as well! Click here and check out a pdf

Keep in mind that both PDF and SWF files are interactive, and read only! Great way to share your maps with everyone!

There are so many great new features that I really can’t decide what I like the best!!! Here is another great new feature.

Web Search and Services Support to add web branches! What this means, is you can grab the google Map Part throw it in your map, type your search criteria and the number of results that you want to return. It will then return branches with the results and links attached. This is absolutely huge for people who do a lot of research! Over the weekend, I was prepping for a presentation on SEO/SEM and I decided to utilize this feature to grab links about Landing Page Optimization, Google Analytics and some other items that I needed to research. This was a great time saver!
